Duplicate Content

i have just had built a website for my company.The web developer put the development site on the internet and forgot to take it off. So when mine went live the website is on twice.He's only just taken it off after a week.Will i get penalised for duplicate content.

maybe a little, but since the dev website is no longer online its nothing to worry about 
might be worth doing a redirect from the old url if your worried but shouldnt be needed...

Cheers.It was rushed to go live on Christmas Eve and they forgot but if you don't think its going to matter as mine hasn't been indexed yet.

yeah it should be fine, these things happen alot... it's not been long either... its when the dup content is there permantly its an issue

To be safe, I'd be 301 redirecting request for the dev site to the new site.
