I've been working on a charity fundraising website, which aims to draw attention to the sponsored walks I'm completing. On the website, visitors can read about my training progress, view my training log, as well as follow me via GPS tracking on sponsored walks. There is a Wordpress install, in a sub folder, which is themed to match the rest of the website, and has been modified quite a lot from the stock Wordpress install. For editing and adding the sponsors and training logs, I built an admin back end, using a MySQL database and a couple of tables. The current styling of the site is the third revision, and I would love to hear your opinions on it? There isn't much in the way of blog posts at the moment, as I don't start training till Jan.

I would like some honest feedback if possible please, because if there are any issues I've missed, then it could affect the success of using it as a tool to promote the fundraising.

Thanks in advance,

Stu

Looks good.
Plenty of space so info is easily readable and the integration with the WordPress is seamless. Good job.

Clean and tidy, but just IMO, I don't like the brown, but i can see why you used it.

Thanks guys, much appreciated.

I was really struggling with the colour scheme for this site. I'm not a massive fan of brown either, I tried a variety of different colours to replace the brown but nothing sat right.

Cheers,

Stu

How about a off white background with a textured design?

It's a decent site, but you need to work more on styling. The current effects are simple and clean but i think you should change the color of the menu and the footer. :)

On this occasion I'd say the brown fits the theme you're going for.
Walking is very 'earthy'

Agreed, although I'm not keen on brown, I do think it fits the theme too.

I've been working on the nav bar, and came up with the idea of making the background look like a dry stone wall. Not 100% sure about it, but I'll leave it as is for the time being.

Nice clean layout, I like it. Maybe just use a different font on the navigation to add a little more variety to the typography.
