Today I decided to make a new homepage for myself from scratch, I'd like to share the result.
It's currently a static page, but it will have recent blog posts in the middle column and possibly cycling images in the large image. Screenshot attached.

It is nice and simple. Are you going for minimalistic style?
In my opinion this style is difficult to get right. I would say play with the typography :)
