This is my portfolio I am about to launch. It is going to be a fun type of portfolio site that will host my work and my blog and will allow me to experiment with new technologies and ideas, hopefully it will also get some links from galleries etc. You can see it at: jibclients.com/FatPenguinDesign/ . It will be fully run on WordPress and use custom post types for the portfolio section.

Overall I like the design and just have a couple of issues with it.

1. the font that you are using on the menu and the headings doesn't really work with the rest of the site. Personally I think you should try something that is bolder to reflect the weight of the font used in the logo more.

2. In the image near the bottom that shows the mac, iphone and ipad the image in the mac isn't straight and the shadow is a little too strong for it to look like it is naturally on the screen.

First of all Fat Penguin? Brilliant name! Secondly, there's a spelling mistake in your skills section

Photoshop Work, Photo Retouchingp

I agree with Dizi about the font the menu, it doesn't really do anything for me.

Apart from that though it's a great design and you've done an awesome job of keeping the ice/winter theme throughout the entire design! Nice Work :)

I agree with you both on the font. Cabin was just one I had on my desktop from another client. I will need to look around and see what I can find, any suggestions? (fonts are'nt my strong point). I also agree with the iMac screen, that was early in the design and will definitely need to be improved.

Thanks!

Okay so I have coded it for WP and have also started working on the additional pages. The about page has work done on it. I also decided to get rid of the slider it was taking up too much room and really wasn't doing anything. I think its now cleaner and more simple. The site is completely coded for WP. What do you think? Im looking for ideas/feedback and all that. Thanks!

Hey Jake,
Really nice site, just one thing really popped out at me.
In the 'Who am I?' section maybe change "I own JibDesigns and ..." to something like "I run ..." or something similar, I just don't like the way "I own" sounds in that sentence.

May just be me though, I'm not the best writer in the world.

Keep up the good work.

I really like it, original and fresh, but one thing stands out for me. On you home page, where you have the "recent work", I would have expected either the images or the texts to link to either your portfolio page or the site themselves. but apart from that, good work fella

I absolutely love it, but it is also quite pic heavy, so... if a person has a slow connections (which i currently have) it takes quite a while to load fullly

Ya it is kinda pic heavy but it is a portfolio so I'm not too concerned about it. I still need to optimize the images tho
