Hello,

First of all I'm sorry if this is in the wrong section and apologies if it has been discussed but I can't find a thread.

For hosting my humble sites over the years I've used tripod, streamline and vidahost.

All are basic but all have done the job for me.

Can I ask which commercial hosts do you guys use and recommend for my next project!?

My next project is going to be a portfolio to sit all of my websites in, as I currently don't have an online portfolio.

Which hosts do you use and what are the pros and cons.

Streamline: Though very basic streamline was my first host. They're simple to operate, probably because they offer so little. There support is ticket based and I believe there staff are based in the states as I don't usually receive a reply for up to 20 hours. However I've rarely used the tickets.

Streamlines online email is awful. I've had many people tell me emails have bounced back days later which has meant I've actually lost work as a result. Clients have been impressed with what they've seen an as a result the email server let me down and I had to change the contact email to my personal email on my booking form.

I want to get away from streamline. They where my original host but it's time to move on. I'd appreciate your thoughts and help with this.

Cheers.

Joel.

Hi yeah, but we'll let you off as you are new! :)

Ideally you need this section I think:-

As for the hosting, I'm biased so I couldn't possibly comment..

I bet you could Si.

As for the hosting he seems a nice guy, so his hosting might just be what you are looking for.

I cant recommend TSOHost enough. There support is second to none and have always responded to my tickets within an hour and often resolved what ever issue i was having (which was always my own fault).

I use them over all my sites and the prices are cheaper than most other hosts I have seen.

Good luck.

Yep gotta agree there. They've answered my support queries at 2am in the morning and have always gone above and beyond for me.
