I'll be honest, it's not great.

First off, the header is huge and the text is pixelated. The font is childish looking too. The test tube illustration is also pixelated and ugly and I don't see why it's there.

Secondly, the grey background is ugly too, it makes the site look drab and dated.

Thirdly, your colour scheme is all over the shop. Bright red, bright green, purple, silver, grey, black, white, too many colours and they're either drab and dull or bright and garish.

To be honest there's not much I can say beyond that as you are using a free wordpress theme and most of it is not your work - so I've picked up on what I believe is and I don't feel anything you have added to the theme as benefited you or added to the design.

As your core focus is content, I'd strongly advise you use the KISS rule.

Keep It Simple Stupid.

If you can't code/design your own theme, go back to a nice stock theme or template. Possibly invest in a nice one off TF - and resist the urge to edit and tweak it because your customisations are not good.

Ok, Thanks. I tried to variate it from the theme so it was different to other websites using that theme.
I'll try some different headers, but if not, i'll just leave it :p
Ps. Its a thermometer ;)

Just like mike I will be perfectly honest with you:

1)the background is well grey, grey is okay I guess depends on personal taste, the problem I have with it however is that on different resolutions it will not stretch thro the entire browser but rather just end and create two ugly big black borders, about 100pix each I'd say......does NOT look good at all.

2) the banner is poorly "designed" as all I see is a font that does not fit, a cartoony lightbulb that does not fit and a thermometer that looks like a male sex organ with green text on it, aaah yes also puke green and bright red do not go well together.

Also seeing that this is mostly a pre-made wordpress theme I don't really know what to suggest to you. I'm usually really confident about people's ability to improve and grow, but you have me speechless here, not so sure you're ready to write reviews about other peoples designs, I mean you CAN but it will be like poking a lion dressed in bacon.

Haha thanks.

Does anyone know what colour would be good for the background, or should I just leave it as the normal black? (I'll have a go at making it stretch).

I've changed it a little. I can't change the size of the header though.

I have made the background image longer, then uploaded it again. If anyone could tell me if it is different on your huge web design monitors ;)

The site is looking much better now(compared to the v1). My 1366x768(above average widht reso???) sees the background okay.
Now if I was to criticise it.. The banner isn't catchy at all. The navi bar seems decent but it just doesn't match with the banner. And the banner catches my eye first.
