Hi all,

Forum newbie here.

I've recently redesigned a site and would love your feedback? This is a site for a small business that I have connections with.
I have limited web design experience and only have a handful of sites previously. This is all pretty much a hobby with a little pocket money thrown in. I've kind of learnt as I've gone along so far and made (And hopefully learnt from) a lot of mistakes in the past! However I tried to be a bit more "planned" and "detailed" in my approach this time. Please let me know any thoughts?
It's also probably worth pointing out that I designed and rendered all the 3d product images myself as well. This is another sideline but I thought I'd mention it anyway!

Fire away and shoot holes in my fragile ego!!

(Sits waiting and biting fingernails...)

Regards PW

Made me smile :)

Things I like:
-I like how your header and navigation looks.
-3D renders look pretty
-Rest of the site is pretty good too.

Things I don't like:

-The flash banner on the sidebar. Totally steals all user attention from more important items.
-Not sure the dick... i mean box-in-a-box approach for content is good. To make things clearer you could just remove it and use somesort of horizontal dividers for splitting content.
-The flash scroller in footer... movement is such a strong attention grabber you really want to use it for super important things only.
-The yellow line under the navigation, try stretching it horizontally in photoshop and then cut it so the ends of the bar don't show, they don't look nice and are the only thing with a light source on the your site. Well, except for the product images where the light is coming from a different angle anyway :)

Can't decide if I like the background or not, it does look nice but at the same time it's so bright and the content is so gray.

I like the site, I can see where you are going with the brick background, but I don't like it. maybe mute it down a bit. Also , kudos for getting it W3c compliant, but no-one else cares about that, i'd lose the picture.

Thanks guys I truly value the input!

I'm going to have a play around with some of your ideas and see what I think.

(The background was something that the client was pretty specific about but I don't see why I can't tone it down a bit. I don't really like it either!)

Good point. It's definitely good to make standards compliant work - but the average customer doesn't care. lose the ugly badge!

Flash - same thing can be done with jquery. Using flash for anything now could lose you potential customers / browsers who cannot view it.
