I made some tweaks today. I sorted out a few coding issues, added a background and made some general refinements.

I have absolutely no intention of changing the design as a whole, I'm very happy with it, but regardless, thoughts?

Just general thoughts about it would be most welcome.

It's very nice, the only change I would make is making the white space in the header bellow the logo just 10-20px smaller.

Is it final layout? If so (keep in mind that the design looks great overall, but we're as good as our weakest link:P):

- quotation in the top right corner isn't formatted propetly

- jQuery slider looks unreadable over black image

- Latest video hover has awful formating as well

- Latest News, gray bar, well for latest anything you should use more distracting color, like red etc.

- Latest News, "continue reading" shouldn't breakline

- Socialize etc. bars, have you tought about reducing the top margin and giving a thin light gray bottom border?

- Socialize, i think that increasing the icons size and removing the word complement, just leaving the numbers will work just fine,

- Search box = nice; Search box highlight = !nice // also increase font size a bit

- Links hover doesn't really fit the color scheme

Hope that helps :)

Ok - so taking onboard the critique I've received this weekend I gave the site a "site wide" overhaul.

I have temporarily "flattened" the navigation by commenting out the gradients for flat colours instead. I guess you could say it's similar to the Windows Metro style but that wasn't in my thoughts when I did it. However, I do think it's a lot nicer, for some reason it feels nicer.

I also colour coded and flattened the headings on the homepage and added a little extra spacing which seems to improve readability.

I've also re-styled the slider and removed a lot of styling which I felt wasn't doing much. The captions are still not very readable when the black slide appears but the only way around that is to make them opaque which I don't like - it's easier if I just change the slide!

Anyway, any thoughts would still be very welcome. This site is a labour of love in the truest sense of the word. :)

I like it. Personally I'd incorporate the colours of your logo/nav headers more within the posts themselves to break up the black & white slightly. Perhaps on the top of the Latest News, Reviews (etc) headers? Or the text headlines of the posts?

For me there seems perhaps a few too many posts per page, although it is consistant across all pages and they are packed full of content so it's probably just a personal thing. This is probably where I'm coming from with breaking it up a little with some colours.

But as I say I like it, it's nice and clean & it's easy to navigate. I've bookmarked it for later so I can go back and read some of those (long) pages. :pardon:

When you hover over "forums" there's a bit of deadspace that isn't the maroon color.

The "search" button text isn't dead centre.

Meh, not sure I'm bothered much by either of those, I don't think they really matter, a bit picky? Fixing the search button for FF breaks it for Chrome and vice versa, it's probably just because of the font I'm using.

As for the dead space, this is because different browsers render each menu item a slightly different width so I couldn't get them to fit 100%.

Thanks mate :)

I had a go at incorporating the colours into each sections page last night but couldn't get something I was comfortable with - though I did add a feature box to the pages and make the titles more prominent.

I'm gonna reduce the posts per page actually because the video page was crashing my browser!

Thanks for the feedback!
