Hi all,

I've been asked to quote for a 8-9 page, CMS driven website. We do the design and then outsource the programming. Just wondered what the average cost for this type of site is? We've never done a web job this large. I don't want to under or over charge.

Any suggestions from experience would be grateful.

Kind regards
Stuart

2 goats and 6 tubs of Ben and Jerrys phish food.

Seriously though,

You said you haven't done a site this large before which implies you have made sites in the past, how did you quote for those sites ? per hour, flat rate ? How did you come up with those numbers. Just do that again but with the larger scale.

There is no 'average' price for sites because there is to many factors to consider.

If it's just the design, then take your hourly rate and multiply it by the amount of projected time you think it'll take.

If you're designing each page individually, then it'll take you much longer obviously.

It can range anywhere between 500 to 1500 + it all depends on how competent you are, how good your design skills are. If you had to pick a figure, what do you think it'll be?

depends on the cms, one thing to design it, another to place it in all the right places so that it works within the cms framework.

it depends ons your client - I focus on joomla a lot and have seen designers charging 2000 quid for a proper joomla bespoke design (as apposed to a template which costs about £30). i normally get the client to choose a base temaplate and then we modify it from there to make it unique-ish.
