Has anyone ever had one of those really overly pushy sales calls from http://www.qype.co.uk/ ?

Have just spent 20 minutes trying to get their sales team off the telephone - he was absolutely relentless and annoyingly persistent.

I simply signed up for a free account which gives you a link on their site - nothing special and I'm not expecting to take over the world from having a qype profile.

The sales guy went on and on, quoting lots of SEO rubbish that he was clearly reading from some sort of prompt sheet. He came out with gems like:

"Our SEO is great, we can guarantee you an extra 500 new clients for £40 per month"

"Your qype profile will improve your social media visibility massively"

"Your qype profile will help you rank for difficult keywords"

I then mentioned how the recent panda update totally owned qype - the sales guy said I should read more up to date and reliable sites - so lol :)

Never had a call from them but I'm not surprised, they seem to be desperate for clients :)

Yes, I had a lot of calls from them last year and this year, but seems like they have finally given up :)

I've never seen a walking meeting, how many legs did it have?

The solution is thus:

"Fuck off. I am not interested. [hang up]" - does the trick for me :p :)

Yeah I've had them call me up LOADS! I registered with them as a client wanted to be listed on their directory and now get calls from them weekly saying they can increase my ranking's etc. The best thing i've found to do, is when creating many directory accounts or article accounts, create one e-mail to use for all your SEO needs so it's not annoying you with updates all the time.

I did the same and I have had 22 calls from them in 2 weeks.

Really regret calling them - they have phoned me to tell me they need to 'confirm my details' 4 times now.

DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THEM!

now all they get is a sharp eff off

Hehe forgot about this thread :)

Did get yet another call off Qype yet again. This time, I let the person start their "Ultra Qype SEO benefit sales picth" and placed the phone down. Went to make a quick drink, came back after 5 minutes and they were gone :)
