Hi people,

just interested to know who is good for hosting websites in the UK these days, I need to find a new website host as feed up with the cow boys at Martfox who over sell, say they offer backup 4 times a day then it turns out they do not!

I would prefer a company that is a fair price, can be contacted by telephone if needed, not going to trust a company that does not offer telephone as an option for contact.

Interested to know what experience you guys have had and who you ended up going with who turned out to be good for hosting your website.

Thanks in advance, Jay

I use NuBlue. Prices aren't the lowest, but you've already found out that cheap hosting is a false economy and their support's top-notch.

I use jomongee. Outdated web design, but their customer service is exceptional. And they're pretty cheap too. Been with them 2 years, never had a problem. :)

Yeh very true, a lot of companies over selling out there, offering services that then tuen out not to be included i.e. backup 4 times a day which had been previosuly reduced from a higher figure of backups to now none without prior notice, made me laugh because I was told they still do the backups but the hosting company have access to them not the customer through R1soft (cpanel)

Will check out Nublue... keep the hosting companies coming as need to get this sorted

Nublue like you say not the cheapest but support on a 0800 and at least you can call them.... they offer a try before you buy, a little more then what I wanted to pay tbh

and they have phone support too, they offer a lot for the price... are these guys another bunch who fall into over selling packages?

And can you confirm they have the R1soft backups that you can go in and restore your website to an earlier time Lee?

*Edit* just read the phone number is only for pre sales, ticket support only for any probs. Would like the option to call someone if needed.

Anyone had any experience with hostpapa?

some good reviews out there, not uk based servers though, really difficult trying to pick a good host when so many claim to offer the best, dont want to go too cheap risking cheap price = crap service but not silly money

Went with EUKHOST in the end, very helpful last night in getting me setup and also have telephone support if needed. Cost more then my other hosting but as already said lesson learnt about going down cheap route which often result in a crappy service

I recommend one hundred percent ICUK

I have had a Linux Reseller Account for a couple of years. I pay £20 per month I can host as many sites as I wish.

ICUK keep things simple and on the odd occasion I've used their support they respond very quickly.
