Hi All,

Bit of a random question but i've been thinking of adding QR code stickers to my bicycle and car that shoots them over to my website.
People are curious and tend to scan them when they see them so i see an opportunity of extra visits to the site, even if they don't end up in direct conversions, they may be useful for word of mouth referrals.

Problem is, my car and bicycle are the only 2 places i can think of to put them. I don't want to go guerrilla marketing them all over the place as it won't give out the right impression for my business and don't want the potential bill for a clean-up! Are there any other places that i could put them (aside from giving them to clients hoping they put them somewhere) and is this a good idea?

Just trying to think sideways on a bit of marketing for the business.

Any thoughts much appreciated!

Thanks,
-Jack

I think they're definitely coming up as a more recognisable form of marketing.
Had you posted this thread last year i'd have said don't bother but now there is a definite use to them.

Not sure where i'd put them either thought ot be honest as i don't drive and my bike is only used for mountain biking :D

I think they're a bit of a phase, I can't really see it taking off.

Fair enough but surely, capitalising on a craze is a good thing. A single hit of QR codes could work, right?
Just having difficulty thinking of places to put them.

I agree with the phase idea. They are too ugly to stick around, I think RFID is the future. Just point your phone at things and a little chip will send the information. More expensive though (And it drives the tinfoil hatists insane)

Thanks.

Staying on topic though: Do you think they are useful to web designers as a marketing tool, today?
