Hi,
I'm new to the whole "VPS" thing. I have some knowledge and can navigate my way around well enough. Having some trouble getting an FTP server configured and setup for remote access.
Was wondering if someone could help me ?
Ubuntu 10.10
Cheers,
Luke.

Depending on what you need i.e full blown ftp server like proftpd or you just want an easy, secure way to transfer files to/from your server), take a look at the following links:
Setting up Proftpd on 11.04 (should be almost the same on 10.10)
or for simple sftp set up:
File Transfers on 9.10 using filezilla and sftp
In general, both those sites, Linode Library and HowToForge have excellent how-tos on setting up various services, hardening your server etc
Hope that helps
If you get stuck, just ask; it can be a real pita sometimes!

Agree with this, i use ProFTPD on my server, easy to setup and easy to use.
