Check out the page titles on this website:

http://www.theaihl.com/

Bit cheeky on behalf of the company that developed it, don't you think? I had a quick look through their portfolio, and it appears they do that for all of their websites. What do you guys and girls think? Taking advantage much?

Cheers,

Chris

Very cheeky yes. Will it do them any good? Nope.

Could also be a thing they discounted the price of the site for too. Although it;s a still a little strange, a link is far more typical.

Personally don't like it... but if the client was asked and they said its ok not sure its fair to say its cheeky... but that’s assuming they asked... who knows

EDIT: as rallport points out its a little strange, but on a advertising point of view it makes you notice it i suppose... still looks weird but makes you notice and look for the link at the bottom.... so if it works for them then fair play... good idea i suppose :S

Just makes that site looks very spammy indeed with such long and disjointed title tags to me ;)

totally agree, very much more an advert for the designer than the actual website... would be interesting if the website was owned by the designers... still doesn’t look nice to me tho

I don't think they are just designers. Design just seems to be another service they have tacked on, mostly a niche CMS it seems. It's still pretty cheeky but things like that are fairly common on software packages. Some forum software, some eCommerce software comes with things like that. Usually you can take it off though. I'm guessing the individual site owners don't know how to or don't care. They just want to buy something that works and go with it.

I bet there's an (expensive) option to remove it :)

Hmmm, yes cheeky - but doesn't look right in the titles and a bit off-putting to me.

Obviously they want the advertising but if they have the same long tag on every page they make, doesn't that count against them in terms of SEO? Not very unique is it?

Smacks off shite web company and doubt it'll do them any good. Plus i hate to think what their removal fee would be.

If you can't make good business without resorting to this sort of tactic then you're doing something wrong.

Quick way for adverting, espically as they get crawled by Google and thats in the title of all the webpages, they do.

Clever to be honest, but an ugly and messy way of doing it.

I don't get why you think it's a benefit?

He's pleaced his website in another webpages title tag. Surely that just makes the website it's on, weaker for it's own keyword and provide the designer with the threat of competition?

It's cheap and devalues his website I feel

I don't see this being any different to leaving a link in the footer tbh.

Both are cheeky
