All my online stuff is stored with a decent host that offers a back-up service.

Anything else that's important is saved in my Dropbox account.

Make full use of the cloud!

Web files/documents/resources/etc I keep in DropBox which I also run on my home server. So I have two local copies and a cloud copy.
Images/Code Snippets/Notes/My Entire Brain - I keep in EverNote (Sign up now, you won't regret it)
My calendar/my email and my bookmarks are all held by Google
To-Do's by Wunderlist
Passwords by LastPass
I also backup my PC to an external drive with Time Machine so if something amazing was to happen and all these services delete all my data I will have a local copy somewhere. Unlikely without warning however.

DropBox, I can fully recommend. Excellent service.

I've been thinking about this subject recently, and was considering purchasing a NAS with RAID, or a home-server / pc configured in RAID to be used solely for storage.

Although I may just pay for a larger DropBox area. £6.50 for 50GB of storage is quite a modest fee to pay for the convenience.
