ok... reposting what was removed.
having all those links at the bottom of your website wont help... i've got a bucket load more advice but you have to see the irony here... a "expert" SEO asking for SEO advice...
your post "a decade of great webdesign" is wrong... a decade from the post date would be 2001 not 1994 so the post gives the wrong feel which combined with multiple other things would destroy consumer confidence in your service... dont forget people looking for SEO services most likley know a thing or two about the web but dont have time todo the work themselfs... and the people who dont have a clue look for people who work with people who do...
in essence the site stinks of snake oil & irony to techies...
sorry to be harsh... but its not exactly wrong and someone has to give you the facts... and im a internet consultant these days so tis what i do
(need to update my sig once my website is abit nicer)

Hi guys, can anyone think of what I'm doing wrong to my SEO consultancy site http://www.everestmedia.co.uk/. Really struggling with its optimisation and it feels like I've tried everything possible...

Um if your offering SEO optimization to people and your asking for SEO advice? that takes ur credibility down a whole bunch in what you do.

LMAO this is brilliant. It's people like you that devalue this industry.
You run an SEO consultancy but know **** all about what to do?
If you cant sort your own website out then don't offer it as a service. Do you have any experience or knowledge? Or have you ranked a few websites for a few ****ty keywords that absolutely no competition.
It is also evident you have copied content from Breeze Media

Imagine if you were claiming to be an electrician because you once changed a plug so you consider yourself an expert. You then go to some old ladies house, rewire her electrics thinking you've done a great job. Next thing, your electrics catch fire, her house burns down, she manages to escape but has ashes for a home.
That's pretty much what you're doing. Without learning SEO properly (as well as good site design!) you are going to do work on people's sites. These people will likely be newbies starting out online and spending the little savings and cash on your expertise. Only to find your advice is poor, their site rankings don't improve much past a page 2 listing and or they are ranking on page one for poor traffic keywords.
You need to face facts. Don't claim to be what you're not. Learn the trade the hard way like the rest of us and then when you ask for advice people might be willing to help. Asking for help when you have a blatantly poor website and demonstrate a real lack of seo knowledge is just plain insulting.
If this were my forum i would have you banned for poor standards to our industry.
