Hi There,

Is there any good online order specilising in food ordering open source or paid solutions anyone can reccomend? Ideally that can be built into a site rather than an external site.

Thanks,

Mark

Hi Mark,

Although I'm not aware of any off the top of my head, having never worked with or done any food order sites it may help to provide some further details to somewhat better allow people to help.

A few key questions could include:
  • Takeaways/Cooked food orders or Packaged food items?
  • Status updates perhaps if takeaway and what level of customisation to the order? (pizza hut/dominos for example?)
  • Type of food?
  • Payments to be taken onsite or using third party gateways?

Hopefully that should give people a better idea, certainly If it is packaged food items I would as ever recommend Magento as it certainly has more options than a spaceship and a good track record, however for a takeaway system I'm not entirely convinced it would be appropriate.

This is an interesting question and the same reason I stopped by today.

I am doing a volunteer web design project for a new pizza restaurant in my local area, and a feature I wanted to add was allowing customers to place their order online rather than only being limited to calling in to place their order. Exactly like the large franchise pizza chains! I would be using this as a learning experience for myself as well.

Has anyone ever done something like this before, that could point me in the correct direction? Sounds like this is what the OP was talking about as well, if not, I apologize for jumping into this thread!

Eatonline has all the options you need to grow your restaurant and bottom line. We also proffer email marketing capabilities – a critical factor to helping you reach and drive more clients to your restaurant´s website. Once you’ve reviewed what we can do, you can choose which package is right for your restaurant.

Hey, I also apologise for jumping in .. I'm trying to.do a similar thing but I'm trying to find a system that allows the customer to track their order (like the domino's website) so they can see in real time what's going on with their order (prepping, baking delivering ect) .. does eatonline offer that feature?
