Hi,
I am wanting to place the Lightbox script on my site and unless I am thick I just cannot get it. It says on D.Drive etc "simple to use" etc, but for me its certainly not. I am a reasonably adept designer, but this Lightbox has the beatings of me.
I'm see the Lightbox image display so many times on excellent sites and here is what Ive done so far :
1. Downloaded Lightbox 2.03a & open its contents onto my desktop.
2. I see x 3 folders ; Images , CSS , JS & an Index page
3.I have got the images that I wish to use in two different sizes, small & large
4. Its the next part Im stuck with. I use Dreamweaver and have made a new htm page for experimentation with Lightbox.
5. Using instructions from Dynamic Drive I insert the following code into the HEAD section :
<script type="text/javascript" src="js/prototype.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="js/scriptaculous.js?load=effects"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="js/lightbox.js"></script>
<link rel="stylesheet" href="css/lightbox.css" type="text/css" media="screen" />
okay so far..
6. Then the instructions say: Create your "thumbnail" image links, for example:
<a href="images/image-1.jpg" rel="lightbox" title="my caption">image #1</a>
This I have done, substituting image-1 for the title of my image.
I have uploaded the 3 folders ( Images , CSS , JS ) to my site
GRRRRRRRRRRR..perhaps someone could explain to me exactly in laymans terms what needs to be where ? If I had some hair left I would be pulling it out!
Many thanks

Hi NeRo..in answer to your question, no the folders are in lower case...I can upload each folder BUT, I already have a folder called images uploaded ( containing my sites graphics), so if I uploaded the images folder, it might overwrite the existing same named folder...so dont know what to do there.

2 options
- Copy your image files into the images folder - just make sure you don't have any names the same!
- Rename the Lightbox images folder to images2 and upload it - then in your lightbox code to link your files, change references to images2 e.g. <a href="images2/image-1.jpg" rel="lightbox" title="my caption">image #1</a>
