Hi everyone,
I recently redesigned my website, and I've had much better ranking results on Google. The problem is, the page that turns up in the results is the portfolio page, and not the homepage. I would obviously prefer prospective clients to go to the homepage first, but am unsure how to do this. I remember seeing code on it recently, but have been unable to locate it
Thanks for your help!

It's not displaying the 'wrong' page, it's displaying the page that holds more weight and better SEO for your site.

It may be because your portfolio page attract more traffic than your home page so SE crawler indexed it and show it on priority bases. All you need is to advertise your homepage and bring more traffic to it.
