Can anybody suggest why email links I have on my website work fine with IE, Chrome and Safari but not with Firefox 5 ?
I use Dreamweaver - if that's relevant.

I thought we were not supposed to give URL s on forum. Last time I did this it came up in search results along with my problem. ???? Is there another way round this ?

The email links work in my Firefox 7.0.1 opening up in Outlook.

I suggest that you upgrade your Firefox and I don't expect tjhat enough of your viewers will have Firefox 5 to worry about it, unless you cater for people who never update their systems.

The people whose email addresses you have shown may get spammed. It's better to use a PHP web form where the email addresses are hidden.

Thanks for advice about PHP web form - will look into this.

Will update my Firefox - fact is that many of the club members who use this site are of the older, non-techy generation so I doubt if they are updating systems regularly. However, my web stats show that majority are using Internet Explorer so hopefully anyone using Firefox 5 will be in the minority.

Thanks.

Hate to go on about same subject but have not resolved this problem yet.

Email links work fine in IE, Safari, Chrome but not in Firefox 7. Email links were suddenly not working with Firefox 5, I updated to Firefox 7 and the problem still exists. I even went back to Firefox 3 but no joy there either. These links had worked in the past. Moderator here checked it out and found it worked ok, so it is just my pc.

Firefox was also telling me that my Flash Player needed updated, even though I had latest version.

Is there something in my internet options for Firefox that I need to change ?

On advice of moderator I have changed email addresses and use e-mail forwarding from web host so personal email addresses not displayed.

Any suggestions ?

Thanks BrightonImplant for suggestion on clearing cache. Have regularly cleared cache and did again today, just to be sure, but doesn't solve problem. Problem exists on all websites, not just my own.

Also can't understand why I can't see your response on forum but only know about it because I watch topic via my email. ??? At least I can't see it, maybe everybody else can and this is just another problem !

Brightonimplant was a spammer who got banned, thus all his/her posts disappeared.

As far as your problem goes, open Tools > Options, Applications tab and search for "mailto". What application is listed?

For Firefox I have set it to Gmail. This initially worked fine. IE is set to Outlook Express as no option to set it to gmail.

No, I just tried this now and no change. I also tried the other option of Yahoo mail with no response either. Did a reboot and tried again but no luck.
