I am a little unsure of what to do next regarding a a google map for a commercial site build. My main concern is copyright issues etc.
I have read into the terms regarding the use of a simple Google map but I cannot find a definitive answer regarding copyright permissions etc. I have also looked in to the Google maps API service and from what I have read it is a real pain to integrate it into the site build.
I just really need to know where I stand copyright wise using a standard embedded google map on a commercial site build?
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

As far as I know (and I haven't looked into the small print) you can embed a map on a site with the API no problem. Using an image of a Google map is probably a different matter.
As for the ease of embedding a map I generally use the gMap jQuery plugin. Makes it so simple to embed a Google map into a page!

You clearly haven't, as Google has made it very easy to use their maps api on websites.
