Hi,
has anyone come across a good solution for monitoring competitor's pricing?
I'm running a Web store, and it takes me too much time each day to check if my competitors have changed their prices.
On the other hand, if I don't do that, my customer's will shop elsewhere (I'm in a very price-competitive market)
Thanks for the advice

What software are you running?
What are your competitors running?
How many competitors do you need to check for each product?
Are there any rules to how you compete with their prices, or do you just do it off the top of your head?

Hey,
I just heard of a new site and they're looking for beta testers so it's still free to do some pricechecks.
tagcompete.com
haven't tested it out myself yet.
good luck

Hi 'fssonline', there are several ways of achieving this however much depends on the number of competitors you need to observe, the nature of each websites construction and how many products you are watching.
What you require can be achieved through scripting on your web server however it's fairly complicated and not something I would suggest a novice attempt.
One of the drawbacks is that the process places heavy demands on the servers resources because of the 'heisenberg uncertainty principle' , in that your competitors prices may change after you have looked so you have to scan each one several times a day.. just to be sure.
