Okay first of all my friend in america is coming back at chritmas and said he would bring back a mac mini if I ordered it to his flat. The price is €444. Im wondering if I should get a mac mini or a second-hand imac?

It depends what spec iMac you're looking at. Remember the iMac uses Sandybridge architecture and is much easier to upgrade the hard drive whereas with an iMac you have to take the screen out to get to the hard drive.

Its difficult to replace the hdd of mac mini too (but its not impossible). :)
If you have money - buy an iMac - its faster than mac mini, and you will have a monitor (i think 24" is the best size for persons working on their computer for living).
The latest model of Mac Mini (2011 rev.) is with sandy bridge and i5/i7 cpu but it has crappier video card than imac (if you want to play games - that will be important).
:)
