Does anybody know how Google is treating keyword-stuffing after their last algorithm change? I'm looking at SEO for a site and its main competitor has keyword-stuffed quite heavily. Here's a keyword analysis with word counts for their landing page.

  • Industry Type 35
  • Town name 29
  • County name 13
  • Company name 12

There are 698 words on the front page and those keywords take up 94 of them. I'd call that blatent keyword-stuffing (the page is horrible to read) and I thought Google would pick up on that, but I'm not 100% sure. Do you think this is having a positive effect on their SERP?

I'd imagine it's having a negative effect on their clickthrough and conversions, irrespective of the SERP.

as chris points out if "the page is horrible to read" you have bigger issues than google.... like the fact the page sucks?

and yes they do have algo's for this and a google translate product which through machine learning helps them gain a deep knowledge of languages... not saying they do use the google translate DB for SERP's but ya know... if i were them... that’s what I would do.

No .. keyword stuffing is none other than spamming.... if you want more keywords, then try to give it to the images..like "alt tag". it helps you but dont try to stuff like you have explained abt that site.
