Hey,

I code HTML, CSS and PHP4 to a good standard and have a knowledge on PHP5

Im looking for a ecommerce framework to use for my first ever ecomm site so first of all it has to be easy to use
I need to use paypal(debit & credit card pay) as the payment gateway
Users should be able to login
Must work with PHP 5.1.2 or less

Any help would be appreciated :D

That's twice you've pushed osCommerce. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

OpenCart seems to be very good (to me at least, but I don't have too much experience with ecommerce packages).

As good as ikt's widely considered to be, from recent experience I wasn't overly impressed from an SEO point of view. Lots of messing about to avoid duplicate content and get a basic level of SEO going. Not sure it was because I was editing another developers magento theme, but there was a lot missing imo.

Comparing it to Opencart, Opencart is way more SEO friedndly.

I personally like Magento, it can be a little hard on the novice user but it's massively feature rich and there are loads of cheap templates you can customise to give your site a unique feel whilst benefiting from loads of modules that are free for this e-commerce solution.

The company I work for makes it's own one, you could check that out and see if it might meet your needs.

ODIN E-Commerce CMS

I hate to say it but Magento is better, this one's simpler tho so it really depends on what you want to get out of it.
