Supp!

Don't know if this is the correct place for this post but I've seen people saying flash can do this so I took a punt!!!

Basically what I'm trying to achieve is being able to record Webcam and Audio through a web browser and store it on the web server. Basically like youtube does, as they allow you to record your videos directly through your webcam and mic straight on to the server.

Has anyone got any ideas on how to do this or could anyone point me in the right direction?

Cheers guys, Aaron

Its not an easy process, its quite simple to build a webcam interface in Adobe Flex, ive done it before. As for recording and processing Im fairly sure you need a Flash Media Server to handle this.

I saw this recently, a Jquery webcam script, you may want to look into this as an alternative. It should be quite straight forward, its probably just a case of using this script and writing a bit of PHP to save the content to the server.

Hi Aaron,

Have a look at the following -
http://www.amazon.co...ASIN=0470131136

You're looking at Flash Media Server for this.
You can download a free trial version that will allow upto 10 connections from the Adobe website.

There is an old tutorial here detailing what you are after using FMS 3.

Adobe have just released FMS 4.5 this week.

Hope this helps.
