Hey all,
Got a large ecommerce site I run and as part of the job, a feed is sent to Google Products database. Recently, they have requested some changes to be made to the feed which come into effect on 22nd Sept.
One of the new requirements is that the data should be exactly corresponding to the website information. Now they are really busy with many sales every minute sometimes, so I dont think this is a realistic requirement (and I'd imagine even bigger websites will be doing hundreds of sales an hour!) to keep a 'live' stock status on the Google side of things.
As it is, we've gone from running 1 feed a day to 1 an hour (via cronjob).
The client has just received an email back from Google trying to clarify this and it (confusingly) says "Product data must be as up to date as possible at the time of a sale, within 1 feed a day". So kind of contradicts itself saying data MUST be up-to-date, yet the requirement is only asking to send 1 new feed a day.
Anyone else using Google Products and wondering what to do here?...
Thanks!
