If you want to rank for keywords relating to a specific product, such as 'blue winter coat' or something similar, how would you go about writing an article related to that?

Articles with that phrase in would be good :)

Also, try to search for niche news/article sites and post them there.

Who is your product aimed at, and what are they interested in? Is your coat a fashion item, or a more practical, waterproof camping kind of coat?

Write about this year's winter fashion trends, what fabrics are popular, and why. Link to your page using your keywords. Instead of thinking about your product, you need to think of your customers. If your article doesn't talk to your customers, about their needs and desires, there's no point in writing it.

Make the article useful to your prospects, so that the chances of them sharing it with their peers goes up.

If you want to really understand how you can use articles and such like to reach new customers, take a look at the copy corner area of this forum (in the copywriting forum)

Good luck :)

thanks for your responses. very helpful.

The actual thing i'm trying to write for is xbox 360 subscriptions and codes, I'm just not sure how you'd write a whole article for that. But I guess if the keywords were part of a bigger title it'd be easier. If anyone had suggestions for a possible article containing those keywords I'd be grateful.

I also read somewhere that putting the keyword phrase you want to rank for at the beginning of the article title is much better. Is that true?
