Hello

I've been asked to look over a site and initially I thought that it was made with Joomla. I've looked at the source code and saw...
"<link href="/joom/templates/system/css/system.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />"....so I thought Joomla.

But I've have a look at the admin panel and it doesn't look like Joomla at all.

Is there a way to find out if it's a Joomla site or not?

Here's the site

Any help would be great, thanks.
:)

Believe Joomla's admin is skinnable.

Hi, yes I know that it's skinable. What I meant was that the functionality wasn't the same.

It's definitely a modified Joomla theme, the original can be found here:

http://demo.rocketth...te=versatility4

When I create a website using a CMS like WordPress or Joomla etc, I usually keep control overall as Admin and give the client limited options as a user or editor. So perhaps the login details you are using are limiting access to features which you would normally have as a full administrator. That plus it's probably been modified and skinned means it wouldn't look like a usual Joomla admin.

But it is definitely based on the above theme with a few modifications.

I've thought that aswell Gary. Hopefully after the weekend I'll be able to access the full backend and see if it is Joomla.
I've had a poke round and I'm still not sure. I'll post a screenshot of the admin panel tomorrow and see what you guys think.

Thanks

We find some clients will know a thing or two about web development and some know absolutely nothing. If they know nothing and we think we should use Joomla or WordPress or whatever, we just tell them we're using a content management system. We have our own skinned and modified admin themes for quite a few of the various CMS that we use, at first glance even most web developers wouldn't know what we were using. It's also nice to keep things branded in our own business name.

We just give a client enough to make changes, but not enough access to screw things up.

I've got to say, they've made a lot of modifications to theme, they would have probably been quicker building a Joomla theme from scratch.

Would be interested to see what their Admin area looks like.

Hi, as promised here are the screen shots of the admin area accessible to the client.

To me this looks totally different to what I was expecting. If you look in screen shot 3 there is a box to check for Joomla...so that has also got me thinking that there is another back end for the developer....like you was saying Gary.

Yeah, it's been very highly customised. Interesting though, it's almost like Joomla within Joomla, as if they've created a whole site section just for the content, on top of the main admin.

It must have taken a lot of work to acheive this, but there's a lot better open source CMS which would have been more suitable for this type of site.

However in saying that there are a few good extensions specifically for property businesses, info here:

http://extensions.jo...ets/real-estate

I've never used them but perhaps this is what's been used here and your access the extension control panel and not the main admin control panel for Joomla.
