Hey Everyone
I have gotten my hands on a Dribbble invitation! YES! and i'm willing to give it to someone on this forum! can ya believe it! YES!

All you have to do is create a design for me based on the Dribbble format i.e 400x300 dimensions and i'll pick my favourite on Friday (this Friday 26th August 2011).

So this is what ya gotta do..

Design a media player, 400x300 dimensions. You can do any style you want. there isnt much brief other than make it the dogs ******** and i'll give it to my favourite one!!! Time is against you so hurry up though!

Below are a few examples that i have toyed with in the past. Dont copy mine by the way. i'll know. Just use that as an idea as what i am talkin about. ;) Space is against you. You can structure it whatever way you want with as little or as much content as you see fit. it can be a music player or just a simple media player or whatever ya think looks right. PM if ya have any questions!

GOOD LUCK. I'll be pickin someone on friday so hurry up and post up your entries as soon as possible!!!

PM me if you have any questions.

Okay, well...here is my entry. It would have been better to judge people on there portfolio for those who wanted the invite - as I am bloody busy, but hey - it was fun!

All the best all....?

thanks Neil. was gonna do the portfolio thing but thought this way it gave people a chance to put something together even if they dont have a strong portfolio. .

Can people just try make sure its 400x300 in dimensions. thats the size dribbble use so try keep it standard.

cheers

OK here's my attempt.
I always really enjoy doing stuff like this but rarely have the chance so i used this as a bit of an excuse to avoid work ;)

It's a mini-player version of a larger player and is loosely based on the stylings of the vintage Marshall JCM series of guitar amps.

Yeah I know what you mean - not everyone has the time to update there portfolio with UI stuff. It got my creative juices flowing anyways :good:

Makes me want to pick up a JCM800...

I might have to put something together. Been trying to score an invite to Dribbble for a while now.

i did this one when i created this thread. love this kinda thing. i dont usually get to do UI stuff in my current job so am always messing baout with this kinda thing just to keep my challenge myself. All of the examples above were done just as mock ups. none of them were actually for anything

Don't want the invite, Al, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to get creative!

Very simple media player.

Good luck to everyone!

Sadly my 900 died during all the house moving :(

But yeah it was real fun to do a little UI work for a change, it's something i enjoy doing and never get the chance.

Very nice. I've met Jim Marshall, nice fella. Feel sorry for the poor bugger though. Hands so cramped up with arthritis he had to use one to put the pen in t'other to sign stuff.

I know he feels after trying to self fix my amp head!
No but that does suck considering i've always and will only ever use Marshall.

You mean the shiny metallic style silver button?

If so, when i do this, and there probably is a better way, i use an angle gradient of alternating shades of grey and white.

The little button thingy in the middle would expand to show more information/controls.
