Hello,

I'm a biochemistry specialist by trade, but I'm relaunching my website which unifies my interest in writing (primarily detectives and mysteries) and magic (the performance art). I'm looking for a graphical logo I can use in the left corner of my site and that also works well as a favicon.

The logo should project a professional and slightly quirky image to my audience.

I'm hoping I can get something for around $50-$100 (delivery time not a dealbreaker).

Things to avoid: deerstalker caps, magnifying glass, playing cards, magic wands.

Taking quotes. I'll fill out templated briefs and answer questions from interested designers to give them the details they need to decide if the project is worthwhile.

(If the project sounds interesting but my pricing is way off, please respond with what you think is realistic.)

Hi this does sound interesting, unfortunatley and I mean no offence this is a UK based forum and $100 won't stretch as far as perhaps it would in its own currency location.

I'd be looking for around £150-£200 GBP for a small logo job, your bench mark is probably between £25-£75 per hour. I have attached some designs.

Thanks Martin

Sorry. I'm used to doing my online purchases outside my home country in dollars, so it was an automatic thing.
I take quotes in any possible currency if I can pay through paypal.

Your budget is pretty low but as you're willing to take quotes that's good :)

I'm still in the process of relaunching, and the design isn't yet completed. If it's done I'll let you know.
I'll post my design sketches and ideas later if it helps. In the mean time, you can take a look at stijnhommes.com for the old site to see why I think it needs redesigning.
