I am looking how i can find a keyword tool to help identify the best keyword used to find websites in a certain area/genre?

What are the best out there, any advise on this would be great.

Thanks,

Personally I use Wordtracker and Google Keyword Tool, followed up by Google Insights.

Wordtracker has a nice feature that if you put in "cooking" it finds all cooking related keywords that get quite a bit of traffic and it shows you the competition too (but its not free).

Are you trying to find out what keywords a competitor is using? There are a few plugins for browser that help with this or just look at their pages.

I am just after a tool that will allow me to find what are the most / best keywords used for a particular topic.

For example i have done a industrial training website and would like to know what keywords are used to find such sites etc.

Cheers for the reply. I will have a look at those tools. Would prefer free ones :-)

One trick is to search for your term: Search results for industrial training

Then look at the source code of the top ranking site and because it is old you should still be able to view source and see all the keywords they are targeting.

For example:

<meta name="keywords" content="training providers, construction training, pasma training, CPCS training, forklift training, dumper training, construction skills, construction training, Streetworks training, RTITB, driver CPC, plant training, bricklaying, crane training, train to gain, CPCS testing, Pasma, NRSWA, free training, cheap training, funded NVQ" />

And of course its totally free!

If you have Firefox installed, download the SEO Toolbar, DMoz and Alexa. Between them they have lots of information relating to keywords, links etc and again they are free.

Also, don't forget that you can use the Wonderwheel tool in Google searches to prompt ideas for keywords which you can then research with the Google keyword tool or similar.

Google Keyword tool is the best one to find relevant keywords. Here you can compare monthly searches and competition of a particular keyword.
