So i've been looking at this new Twitter tool for a bit and thought i'd like to start a conversation on it. Twitters blurb is...

Quote

Bootstrap is a toolkit from Twitter designed to kickstart development of webapps and sites.
It includes base CSS and HTML for typography, forms, buttons, tables, grids, navigation, and more.

So, what are peoples thoughts? Will you be playing with the new tool?

I like it a lot! In fact, I was only just looking at Less just prior to seeing this thread, and it looks like an improvement if anything.

Might take a while to get used to, but I love the fact you can hotlink the CSS. A great way to save bandwidth and speed up page-loads.

How about you Mike?

I'm really not 100% yet as i haven't had the time to actually get stuck in, just been reading about it.

I think when i've finished my current clients work i'll take some time to dream up something i could use this for, get stuck in and have something to stick up here for people to delve in to.

One of my colleagues recently told me about this thing called Twitter Bootstrap as he believes it may be able to assist me in one of my personal projects.

Just sharing it, I can see how nice looking websites could be built very quickly using this and as it is only a css file, it doesn't have dependencies (unless you use some of it's java-script), full support for IE7 onwards.

Strangely enough i never got round to playing with this in the end. I'm going to have to make a concious effort to give it a go.

A freelance project I recently started has been prototyped using Bootstrap. It's pretty slick since it allows design-challenged developers to put together something more coherent and consistent than they would otherwise. Makes my job of coming in and revamping the UX and UI a lot easier than it used to be when I had to try to stumble through crappy visuals to figure out how something is supposed to work.

Other than that, I don't see much use for it from a designer's perspective, but as a developer who wants to rapidly prototype something it would probably be a nice framework to use.

I just wish all these clever forward-thinking guys could get together and agree on a unified way forward.. I'll be honest, all the different strategies and approaches is starting to hurt my brain a little.

Hi Guys!

I've just started using Twitter's Bootstrap for a WordPress site and have stumbled upon an issue I can't figure out?!

I want it to be responsive, (I am using the latest 2.0 release) and when I alter my browser width it changes accordingly. But when I view my site on my Android phone it doesn't show the correct view. It shows the full screen page.

Could someone who uses Bootstrap tell me where I've gone wrong please! Linky here

Thanks

Must say I hadn't seen this, but must say I'm rather interested having had a play with it already this morning, certainly has potential for us with a lot of the custom crm, cms, and billing systems apps we work on :)..

Might be a nice replacement for one of our boilerplate templates.
