Hi,

Hoping someone can help me with the problem I'm having. This is my first venture into webdesign for a friend, so go easy on me as it's pretty basic!

Basically, I have created a flash navbar, with dropdown feature. The stage size is 1000px x185px. This all works as it's supposed to.

When placing the Navbar swf into dreamweaver, a large space is left between the navbar and the content of the page.

I want to bring the content up the page, directly below the navbar and then for the dropdown box to sit over the content when the 'Artist' button is rolled-over.

I can't workout a way around it as changing the stage size in flash means that the dropdown menu is off-stage and hence not visible, and I cannot make the table height on Dreamweaver any smaller than the swf object itself.

I've attached an image so you can see what I mean.

Any help/thoughts appreciated.

the reason flash isnt used commonly is due to its low browser support statistics, therefore meaning not all web viewers actually have flash installed which would lose your website a fair amount of potential customers, so web designers who initially have learnt flash (like myself) had chosen it would be better to stick with html/css,

the interactivity flash can give you with such little knowledge on flash itself is pretty good to be honest with you, but because of the low flash users statistics make it pretty unoptional to designers, leaving them the only option of html/css, so therefore, using just a flash nav, defeats the whole object of not using flash, so, either use flash only for a fully interactive site, or ditch the flash nav

Won't the flash nav take longer to load than a standard css styled nav?

Have you uploaded the site anywhere?, without seing the project it's difficult to solve the problem.

web-itec is right, if you are going to use a flash tool bar, you may as well do the whole website in flash.
If not use HTML,CSS,JAVA.

Have you tried making the swf transparent?
in dreamweaver, click on the flash and open the parameters (Properties (bottom tool bar))

Press the + to add
wmode in the parameter field
transparent in the value field

Click OK.
