Hey guys,

Google has confirmed that their new 'sitelinks' algorithm and results layout is here to stay.

"Google says makes “it even easier to find the section of the site you want.” Plus, Google is upping the number of sitelinks from eight to twelve sitelinks for these queries.

I don't really see the point. Most people will still click on the main link and the alternative links are only going to mean that visitors may miss out on vital information. If a websites structure and navigation are good enough then this really shouldn't be necessary.

Just looking at the a couple of my sites that have the new sitelinks. Google seems to pick up my highest PR and well linked inner pages. Google also seems to have understood my sites structure as well, as my main product listing page sin scluded too (connects whole site). I also like how they have picked up the business lsiting below the links too.

I think its good. It also gives more room in search results for non-brand websites (even though the brand websites now take up more visual space) it allows searchers potentially more choice)

I also think the BIG opportunity here is in PPC. If you are bidding on brand keywords and know that you can covert consumers that aren't looking for their site, a huge new opportunity to be the best visible alternative.
