We are looking for an experienced website developer to advise on our outline plans to develop our website. You’ll need to have experience in developing commercial sites utilizing a Content Management System and Ecommerce capabilities. One of the key features of the site is product reviews.
Further work for a suitable candidate could involve the site’s development and/or project managing its development.

Country
You could be anywhere – but a UK based developer would be ideal.

Size
Not applicable.

Scope
Initially the job is simply to evaluate our plans and to advise on the best/simplest way to provide the site functionality needed.
We have set up test sites in Joomla and Wordpress and are looking for advice on whether these CMS systems are suitable, or whether a better option is available.

Time Frame
Ideally within the next 7 days.

Budget
£100 (PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS ONLY FOR THE EVALUATION OF OUR PLANS AND ADVICE ON THE SITE'S DEVELOPMENT!)

Features
The site is the online presence of a series of established printed tech guides. It offers information about the guides and a means to place orders online.
The usual magazine site features – news/info/article pages are needed.
In addition the site will host product reviews. A key feature will be the ability to host and post new reviews along with a star rating system for editorial and user reviews.
We also need an Ecommerce element to the site and need to be able to sell products direct and via links to affiliate sites.

If you are interested please PM me with details of your experience/expertise.
I will send you a more detailed specification of what we need, a link to our existing Wordpress site and some sample page PDFs.

£100

That budget is unacceptable for any UK developer for this project

I'm not entirely sure but maybe he means £100 for the consultation of sitting down and working out what is best for the company for example what CMS to use? If he means £100 for the whole project, I completely agree with you.

I think he is just after a consultation, in which case £100 seems reasonable for a couple of hours consulting.

Fair play..

Nosster, please could you clarify if the budget is for the consultation or for the entire project?

If that's the budget for the consultation then that is the normal charge for three hours from me.

Hi,

Yes - £100 is just for the consultation.

I wasn't expecting the whole site to be developed for this!

You're sensible. I like you. You wouldn't believe how often we get the opposite.

Joomla definitely, with jomsocial with virtuemart or one of the other components. Last I looked Wordpress was a blogging platform trying to catch up with Joomla and Drupal (which are built for CMS)?
