I went with #6, it felt the most refined and had that level of "badass-ness" that I associate with combat sports.

#2 was a VERY close second. I feel that the use of imagery is stellar, but the whole implementation didn't have the same level of refinement as #6.

#3 also grabbed my attention.

The treatment of the header in #8 is well-done... I think that sort of visual style and imagery would appeal to the audience.

I love the visual style going on in #5 but I don't think it fits with the subject matter well enough.

Great work guys (and gals), every entry was solid and it's nice to see so many variants this time!

Awesome work, everyone! :D (although I do feel there has been SOME stretching of the limits of what I would personally define as "dark grey" ;)) No, but seriously, really impressive stuff! If I were voting, I reckon I'd go for number 2 :)

I went for number 3. I loved number 6 but it just doesn't feel right for a paintball company. Number 3 has that quality, in my opinion anyway.

That's exactly what I thought. Although it definitely has the level of skill and refinement that we've grown accustomed to with contestant no. 6. Arguably the most polished. Along with entry no. 3 I think.
Entry no. 3 I'm leaning towards but I feel it could have a bit more overall contrast. It's definitely a wicked piece of work though.
Gonna make my selection later with fresh eyes.

Edit - And yeah I agree kudos to all the contestants for obviously putting a lot of effort in, whether it took them 2 hours or 2 weeks.

Nice entries, everybody! Good luck to ya'll. Will vote later as I'm really having too much trouble deciding right now, at the moment 9# and 6# seem my favourites.

Wow very nice entries all and the voting looks real close. Love the fact that number 8 features a semi naked girl covered in those painful paintball splatters. Also seems like Al did a little bit of refining on his design since his post on Forrst. I'm not sure who to vote for...guess I have to roll a dice.

Well, I must say that I'm pleasantly surprised with the number of votes I have so far haha!

Some awesome designs, and great interpretation of what makes a good paintball website

EDIT How long is voting open for?

I voted for #2, whilst is lacked some of the finishing touches and attention to detail that some others had I felt that it was the best across the board and most attuned to the original brief. Well done to everyone who took part, some excellent work.

As a new member to this forum I was scouting out this month's competition to see the quality of entries, I'm very impressed and I'll be joining in next month :D

It does seem a bit different. I think you added or removed something. Can't remember too well. Brain is crowded with project ideas.

Some really good entries. Was a bit stuck between 2 of them, but finally made my mind up and cast my vote.
Might even enter the next Design Challenge :)

No.6 for me. Very refined.

No.2 a close second, as someone pointed out, the use of imagery is great, creates a good atmosphere.

Had to go with #3 in the end. I even overlooked the use of $$ on a UK site...

Al's was incredibly polished as usual, but felt a bit too clean - the one paint splash wasn't evocative enough of grungy military-themed fun, whereas the background on #3 was spot-on - if you look closely at it you can see what it is, but as background to the page content it looks like camo mottling.

I wish I could vote for multiple entries, I really like Entry 2, 3 and 7. But I voted for #3.

It's a fine example of how to have an image in the background but not have it intruding on the actual site.

Looks like it's Al again with Jason snapping at his heels so closely Al will have to get his shoes re-leathered.
Well done Al, another slick professional offering as usual :good: .
