I am looking for some one to design an adult contact site.
The site is a combination of several sites I have found already. so if you would like links as I am not sure I can post them in the forums I can send them to you.

1 members of the site will be able to set up there own profiles they will be able to upload pictures into 2 seperate folder one public one private. they will be able to update there status as on fb these updated status reports willl be displayed on the front page of the site along with the lates pictures that have been uploaded.each picture and status report will carry a link to the person that uploaded or made it.

2 members will be able to set if they would like to be contacted by other members based on a set of choices they can make.

3 members will be able to request a friendship with each other if the friendship is accepted the members will be able to see each others private pictures.

4 memebrs will have a choice to display there friends or not

5 members will have a choice of who can contact them paying or non paying members memebers will be able to block people.

3 an email system will be needed and the amount of mails a member can send will depend on there level of membership.

4 members will be able to wink at each other and these will be displayed on the members profile ie they have recieved a wink or friends request.

5 Menbers will be able to see the last 50 people that looked at there profiles.

another section will be identical displayed on the front page this will be for escorts. they will only be able to be contacted by paying members.

the payment for membership will be via a text messageing service so no bank details need to be taken.

the quote you give should include all intalation on to a server and also a period of maintainance to sort out any glitches bugs etc that I or my members might find to make sure I get this service the last 25% of the payment will be with held untill and agreed time after instalation.

I have had a few qoutes for this work and then someone sugested I came to a site like this I know it isnt going to be a three or four hundred pounds job. I would rather people ask me anything they think I have missed or any other questions before sending me a quote

You might run into an issue with the 25% held back thing. I don't know many designers/developers that will hand over the final project files before 100% is paid.

that was just what one company offered and I thought it was a good idea as if I pay and there are problems I cant sort them thats why I am here :) Maybe that point could be negotiated to a refund on x amount of pounds if ther are problems with the site or the designer sorts the problem.

Hi George

First of all - thanks for coming to Web Design Forum with an actual budget.

Whilst I am too busy to take the project on at the moment, you can rest assured that you will be inundated with PMs and Emails.

What I may suggest to you as an alternative to the 25% held payment is that you have a period where the site is in Beta mode (or on a UAT server) to thoroughly test the site - and when you are happy it has no glitches, then you can pay the final payment and send the site live to the world.

Also - get a contract in place with a project this large. Don't work solely on trust with a designer or a company. Anyone worth their salt with want a contract in place with you anyway - so definitely insist on one.

In this agreement, you can specify deadlines, all of the specifications and give yourself a lot better chance of getting exactly what you want from the site, whilst at the same time, allowing the developer to know what he/she has to do in advance.

Best of luck with your project - I think that with a solid £4,000+ budget in hand, you will end up with a lovely site.

As terydinho said above, you have a taken the time to get together a proper budget. This means you'll get your hands on a proper developer who will do things professionally.

In this case what I'd normally do is take a 25% deposit and then set several milestones along the way each time collecting a further 25% of the total payment. Once testing commences and is passed, then the final 25% is paid and the site is made live.

Make sure every section along the way is contracted and invoiced and everyone will have a great time with the project.

Good luck.

Or you could partner with http://www.whitelabeldating.com/ - most of the features you're looking for seem strikingly similar to their system

People have said that payment should be split up at what stages should it be split and what percentages of payment should be made at each stage. Ie I dont want to have payed 75% of the payment to discover only 25% of the work has been done.

Thanks for everyones advice on this project :)

Thanks George

All depends on the trust with your developer. Have you found one yet?

I havent yet no. I have started getting some rough quotes in but have not as yet had a final one.
I think it will take a few conversations before the price can be sorted exactly.
I just hope the people I am trying to work with understand that I dont know to much about this stuff :(

George - the best way to handle that is to have specific check points along the way.

So usually on a big project like this you would say:

25% up front
25% when the designs are signed off and you are happy
25% when you see it working on the testing server and you are happy it is nearly complete
final 25% when the site is live on your server

I hope that helps

I think you misunderstood me. By 'Backend work' i wanted to say that i am a developer and will do all the coding and designing work of your site by IM communication with you, but for meetings my colleague will entertain you, that is his task.
