Premium retail brand experiencing huge growth is looking for a UI Designer. As a User Experience Designer you are part of the User Experience Team and have specific responsibility for ensuring that their user experience output is of a consistently high standard and in line with their prestigious brand / user interface guidelines. You should work closely with the User Interface Designers and Developers to ensure consistency of output. You are part of safeguarding and developing the brand within our users experience and as such should strive to find ways of building on its foundations.
Youll do this by:
• Delivering world class user experience solutions across all its channels, including web, mobile and internal / external systems;
• Working with the other team members within BrandCE and the broader business to ensure a consistent output in line with the brand / user interface guidelines;
• Working with the User Experience Project Manager (UEPM) and the managers within the User Experience team to ensure that work is inline with expectations – giving them full visibility of work throughout the project lifecycle;
• Being aware of design & technology trends / new developments and communicating these to your fellow team members and line manager for use if appropriate.
• Collaborating with the UEPM on a daily basis to ensure that project work and change requests are produced on time and to brief, reporting back on project progress, helping the UEPM to update documents accordingly;
• Working with those around you to develop project ideas and concepts for delivery by you and your team;
IN DETAIL:
User Experience Definition. You will work within the BrandCE team to develop designs that are in keeping with the brand / UX values of the company. They should be of a consistent high quality, visually and from a users perspective.
Managing work and delivering to brief. You will work to ensure that work is delivered within agreed timeframes and to the defined brief.
Communicating with the business. You will maintain open and informative communication with other areas of the business throughout the project lifecycle.
Sign off. You will assist the UEPM in ensuring the timely sign off of work at agreed project milestone
Your performance will be judged on the following criteria:
1. The quality, and ongoing improvement of your UX output
2. The quality of your communication with others
3. The timely delivery of work to brief and to deadlines
4. Your ability to work collaboratively with all teams within the business
Required skill set:
1. User Experience outputs including user research, wire frames, site maps, functional specifications.
2. Excellent working knowledge of full Adobe Creative Suite and wire frame solutions such as Axure and Omnigraffle
3. Working knowledge of HTML, CSS preferable and excellent knowledge of web standards
4. Understanding of the User Centred Design process
5. Understanding the requirements of the channel to which you are designing
6. Working to tight deadlines
7. Ability to creatively interpret briefs
8. Understand the required audience
9. Ability to communicate clearly with others
Salary pays up to £45K and is based in Hertfordshire.
