Hi just a quick one really (hopefully!). In dreamweaver cs5, i'm trying to add swf file, inserting media/swf. Going to properties and pointing the src and file to the correct files in the files panel. Press play in the preview panel and all is good. Put to domain, but when i try it says it needs the newest version of flash installed. It is already installed, have tried chrome, firefox and IE. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

Alan

Any takers? and anyone know how i can add screenshots here? thought that might get a bit of response. I've gone through countless guides on how to now, have put the whole site on, and seem to be aiming to the correct files, all in my root file. Read that it is common to miss files, but uploaded the entire site, took the files out and replaced them but seem to be going around in circles. Anyone help ? (more than a hint of begging...)

Just went to my host c-panel, the expressinstall has been uploaded, although when i try to 'put' it from dreamweaver it says that these files have been unsuccessfully uploaded....if that indicates anything..

To add a Screenshot you need to host it onto a server - just use http://imageshack.us/ and then click 'insert image' when making a post and post the URL (it will have [IMG] tags around it.

Cant help you with the DreamWeaver problem, never used it. It should work if the .swf file is in the correct file and your linking to it correctly. Try putting it in the same file as your images and link to it that way, see if it works.

I had this problem, but how I resolved it could be different to what is affecting yours.

My issue was within the <param name="xxxxx" value="xxx"/> the value was the issue which is the file directory to where the file is as I was working off my computer and before uploading it to my server it had the directory the same as my pc which is different to how it is organised on my server.

my pc i had <param name="movie" value="drc/images/media/media.swf"/> on my server the file path is value="/images/media/media.swf"/> basically every part of the code that targets a file needed changing

as i said this is what solved my issue which sounds identical to yours.

Hope this helps.

Try using this.
Wich technics is so much better than Dw´s.

If you don´t want or like it, verifies the URLS.
You have to put the swf where the html should to find it.
If you put the swf on another directory, or with another
name, the html will never find it.
