Can anyone point me to a place where they teach actionscript from the the beginning? google brings up lots of sites but they all seem to expect proir knowledge. Ive learned photoshop and illustrator through free tutorials but im struggling with actionscript. I have also got a recommended book, the actionscript game programming university, but that seems pretty fast pretty quick too. Unless it is just me.......

Anyone point me to a decent set of tutorials?

Thanks in advance

Alan

A quick Google search brings up a lot, you just need to filter through which tutorials are going to be relevant to you. Bear in mind, just like Photoshop, its worth doing random tutorials as well to further develop your skills.

Youtube also has a few tutorial channels that feature Actionscript, however I'm not sure how good they are and at what level you need to be to complete them.

Hi thanks for the reply, yes that is how i've largely learned, via finding tutorials through searches. But actionscript 3.0 is for some reason a more difficult topic to find. Well at least for beginner tuts it is. Or seemingly so for me anyway! Yes youtube is invaluable and i hammer that to death, but again they are very hit and miss. I dont mind hitting and missing with the best of them (!), but was kind of hoping that there is someone here who may be self-taught/tutorial taught who may say 'hey this guy is simple, straight forward and i thoroughly recommend him'.
But yes thanks for mentioning youtube, as said earlier, invaluable!!

Thanks for replies so far
