Guys, so far I have 7 entries. I would like at least 10, to keep the competition up, so, make your layout in your favourite graphic editor, then pm me for my email, if you already have my email, then just send it straight off :)

entered.

David v. Goliath

Lol, dont think I stand a realistic chance with all you guys, I have seen what you can do.

But I find it a nice challenge, not only to actually competing but also to enhance my skills.

Also great to see what different designers make with the same goal in mind.

Hello! :D I am considering whacking together an ill-thought-out last-minute entry for this, but I just wanted to clarify two things first:

1) What with me being a big old girl who wouldn't know a paintball even if it hit her in the derriere (this is, incidentally, not an invitation), I would like to ask whether "paintball ARENA" means that it's an indoor... er... thingy (as you see, part of my preparation for this project has been to fully immerse myself in the paintballing lingo)? Or are they still called arenas even when they're outside in... um... the woods... or wherever it is that you normally shoot paint at people?

Aaaand: 2) I know this was mentioned earlier in the thread, but what was the conclusion reached re: using possibly copyrighted photos on this? What with me not wanting to be arrested and all (I know, I know  ).

I would not have an accurate answer to either question, but the designs will not be used and only shown here so copyright should be no problem.

I personally made a small list of where I got my images from and will keep it in my admin for if anyone ever askes about it.

Arena sounds indoor, but could just as well be an outdoor area, doesnt really matter just use what you think is nicer.

Good luck, this is my first competition entry and am curious to see the other entries.

P.H.

Yes just to clear things up, its up to you, could be an indoor or outdoor arena. As far as copytight goes, you wont need to worry, as they are solely for competition use. Anything you do after the voting ends, then is liable to copyright if sold. Need any more info, post here or drop me a PM :)

As Ash stated and I can and will second him, your submitted entry will not be used by anyone here. Only Ash has access to the file until he publishes them for voting purposes. You do not need to submit the source file (psd, png, ai, etc); rather a JPG or a flattened png.

If you would like to use images on your design that are copyrighted or from a stockphoto site, just use their watermark or put the photographer's name on the photo itself.

well yeah i agree the deadline was too long but i guess that's because ash wanted more than the usual 2-3 entrants. i like to get feedback asap so it is a long wait - and i guess as designers (if i can include myself in that;) ) aren't used to have such generous deadlines :)

Nooo, I was counting on finishing mine at the last moment! :( (And before people tell me I've had a month and a half to do it: I broke my right shoulder a month ago and have been doing it one-handed! (And I'm not even left-handed! :()

(Obviously you can end the contest early though. I'll just sit here. Alone. Crying. Awkwardly wiping the torrent of tears from my face with only my left hand.)

(It is actually true though, and I'm gutted because I was counting on the deadline being... well, not today! I've already spent quite a bit of time on my design but it's obviously coming along pretty slowly (Photoshop was evidently not actually designed for one-armed freaks) so I will be a teeny bit annoyed if it was all for nothing. Oh well. I can always finish it in my own time and stick it in my portfolio, I s'pose! :unknw: )

Lol, I say let katy get hers finished for the 1st Aug, to be fair that is when the deadline is and I rushed mine to get it in, and like she said shes spent time on it already, would be harsh :p

But im new here so if my comments are completely ignored then fair enough lool

Yeah agreed. theres 9 entries so far if we stick to the 1st august deadline then Katy can enter hers, might as well make it an even 10.

That said, if she wins and I come second i'm going to regret saying that lol.

Simple. Just do the left hand side of your design then mirror it :spiteful: .

I was on some pretty strong painkillers for the majority of that time, I basically lost a month of my life! I think my design probably would have been incredibly trippy and had incredibly little to do with paintball if I'd started it then. And possibly included unicorns. I'm just saying. I know this is really irritating for you though, and I'm really sorry! I promise to time my broken limbs better in future! :)

You are very nice, thank you! :air_kiss: I'm doing it right now, I swear!

I am now feeling immense pressure to perform.
