Really depends what you're after in a CMS.
Flexibility, ease of use, ease of customisation, programming used, features, server support, mail support, community, price etc etc etc.

^ echo that - no two CMS's are equal, it really depends what you need to achieve, both with content and management.

Really depends.

But the ones I turn towards is first Expression Engine, then Pyro, ModX, Concret5, Perch and maybe Wordpress if I need to.

We find wordpress really popular with our customers as it is so easy for them to update themselves with very little training. For larger more complex websites we often prefer Joomla.

It depends.

Wordpress is very good. However you really need to know how to develop a wordpress site for a bespoke design.

Pagelime is good, if you want to apply CMS to an HTML website.

There are others, but these are the two I would recommend!

Got to be WordPress for me because it's easy to use and at the end of the day that's exactly what your clients need.
