So i've recently been working on some scrolling text sections I want to load into my site. I found a free .fla as I'm very much a flash novice, but when I edited the file to suit (attached), it didn't update when I previewed it or loaded it into my site? I've tried clearing cache etc, the only thing I can think of is that it might have been a locked/tamper-proof file originally?

Attached File(s)

yes, it does this with flash some times its a pain in the arse, i never worked out how to actually get it to work again without messing about waiting etc, although its because its already been loaded so its remembering it when you load the page again to save your computer downloading the swf from the server, it should work if you delete cache im sure of it and it should update every 12hours or something anyway in firefox i think, on firefox ive never seen an option to change this but on opera it does have an option

that should work if you reloaded the page it "SHOULD" get the new swf from the server if you change it so cache is not stored, im not an expert on stuff like this but im sure thats what it is, maybe wait till you get a better responce.

another way i used to get around this was to just give the swf a different name on the server so instead of main.swf id make it main1.swf then main2.swf and so on as i update it, very uneducated way of doing it but it worked lol so basically yeah no need to worry, its nothing to do with your flash or your server, hope it helps
