For all you people trying to sell your domain names, how exactly do you put a value on it? Is there a standard that you go by?

Thanks in advance

You have to consider the power of it to both search engines and marketers, something like dirt.com would be no good for someone trying to get search engine rankings for keywords like makingmoney.com would, but would be great for a washing machine company because they could use it in there adverts and people would be able to remember it.

So to answer your question, I think it would come down to luck if you auctioned it, you would be lucky if someone/people saw the hidden potential from a marketing point of view. You could also be lucky if top players from some sort of online marketing niche saw it and wanted to develop on it.

Thats how I see domain name value.

Well, if the domain is really worth then you can search the relevant domains in godaddy and find out what is the current value and accordingly you can increase its value and sell it.
