Does backordering for expired domain name really work? Please let me know if anyone have success in grabbing a domain name by backordering.

Depends on the extension. For example TLDs such as .com have a very different series of events at the end of their registration period than say .uk.
But yes if have the correct method for the extension (and potentially a deep enough pocket) you stand a good chance of getting the domain.

We had used Godaddy backordering service to backorder sonataweb.net domain when it was expired. It did work. However Godaddy backorder services has not worked always.. There have been few times when other backorder services such as snapnames.com etc were faster than Godaddy to grab an expired domain.

I think a lot has to do with luck. No matter what tool you use, there could be lots of other people trying for that domain and there will always be luck involved in that.

When back-ordering a domain is the current owner aware of the interest? Only wonder because I have back-ordered a certain .co.uk domain and the current owner has ripped off a lot of reseller hosters and has got himself a bad rep so I can see him "hanging on" to it out of spite.
