Hi

From what I have seen there are no negatives on the Magento forum about Magento.go.... mmmm.... either its 'out-of-this-world' or we have a vetting system in place ie. 'read only'... the charges are, lets say... interesting and quite pricey I think.

There seems to be no comments on this forum about Magento.go either! A bit odd! Anyone like to enlighten us with their thoughts?!

I thought it would probably best to go through the learning curve with the free version rather than shell out in the long run for 'go'... although it does look a 'convenient' option.

It's just a turnkey hosted version of Magento shopping cart, same software, but with developer support thrown in (if you have the Enterprise version you'd already have support). The only exception I can see is that you can't use Extensions yet.

Magento Go is overpriced, but the main downside is you can't have extensions there.

Not just over-priced. They are the evil.

I spent over $100 at Magento Go and basically got nothing, cancelled my store 4 days after signing up.

My full story: http://www.kavoir.co...ive-review.html

1. They DELETE your support tickets without responding in any way.
2. They respond to your tickts every 1 or 2 days (IF they respond AT ALL) - simply unacceptable for mission critical sites such as ecommerce stores.
3. There is NO WAY you could delete / scramble your credit card information there, EVEN after you have cancelled your plan. This makes me very very uncomfortable. After submitting 2 tickets requesting my CC to be deleted, it's been over 2 days and they DIDN'T RESPOND in any way.

Oh, and they charge your credit card even after you have cancelled your store: http://www.shoppingc...ew/#comment-469

Horrible story. Do yourself a favor and AVOID them at all costs....

Thanks for the advice yangyang!

What an eye-opener... a real shocker...sorry to hear about your experience (and the experience of others). I also read the reviews on the link you included and I am left thankful I did not try out .go for myself! Yuk!

This all makes me wonder what is going to happen with X-Commerce. I hope its going to be all singing-and-dancing as they are hyping it, but I certainly will not plumb for a X-Commerce.go version!

I like your blog by the way! Interesting stuff!

Couldn't be any worse. They probably only care about the top paying clients.

Thanks and very glad you like my blog! :drinks:
