Hi,
Sorry if I知 posting this question in the wrong place.
I'm developing a website where a user can view videos from it. For that purpose I知 using JW Player. But there's a problem, some videos are very long and take some time until they are fully loaded. Now imagine a user wants to start viewing the video from the middle, he will have to wait until the video is loaded to the middle to star viewing from that point. But if you go to youtube.com, you can start viewing any video from where you want whatever the video has been loaded until that point or not, making the video to be re-loaded from the point you select.
How can I use this same functionality with JW Player? Or is there any video player with that same functionality? (It doesn稚 matter if it is free or not)
Thanks!

Hi,
I'm not sure how You Tube do their delivery in terms of scrubbing to a point.
The only way I know to do this is to RTMP streaming and for this you would either need Flash or Wowzer Media Server or to use a content delivery network.
RTMP streaming is expensive in terms of both hardware and software.
Hope this helps.

JWPlayer supports psudo streaming - http://www.longtailv...seudo-streaming - but you need the right server side components (ask you host).
There are also some configuration options you can try - http://www.longtailv...uration-options - eg "bufferlength" and "start"

I havent used JWPlayer myself but I know that Flowplayer works great with psudostreaming in NginX.
NginX can be very light and cheap to run.

If You won't use Flow/JW try DarkOnyx by Web-Anatomy -> best for me
