The title/poll is self-explanatory: what's your favorite IDE/software to create and edit your code?

I'm using notepad2, but I really miss the tabs feature.

Another vote for Netbeans from me but...
start up times are painfully slow when you have a lot of projects on the go.
Generally a great all-rounder though :)

I'd love to change my vote. I'm using Komodo Edit since last week and I'm loving it! Very fast, lightweight and has almost all the features I need.

I don't find it particularly slow, but then I tend to only have one or at the most two projects open at once. Try closing them. ;)

haha, at home I generally have 1 or 2 projects on the go at the same time but work is a different matter (normally 10 or 12 large(ish) projects on the go) so I put up with the slow start up. tbh, once it has started up, it's fine. For quick edits, however, I use geany.

How much would it cost to buy netbeans? Is it worth the money?

Another +1 here for Netbeans. Yes it can be a bit slow "scanning projects" if you have a few open at once.
The new version is HTML5 and CCS3 compliant, and haven't really got a bad word to say about it. Debugging can be a bit tricky to get underway, but they give clearer instructions as to the config now (I think they have a generator on their site).

Eclipse and Netbeans (Depending what I'm doing). I prefer to use Eclipse though, as its the best IDE for the types of development work I do.

(I'm sure there is already a thread about this, http://www.webdesign...ou-use-to-code/)

NetBeans is not just free. It's open-source! That means you can take the source code, modify it, and sell it. Although there are some restrictions on what you can do with the source code because of the nature of the open-source license, there is nothing to stop you from profiting from selling a NetBeans 'remix'.
