Firefox 4 was released last week and I was looking forward to it because of all the news it was getting. And with firefox being my favorite browser (although I have safari and chrome as well), I had high expectations of it. But when I started using it, it seemed a little problematic and I thought that I should stick to the older version I had been using. For example, some of the webpages don't resize right and it no longer saves tabs when I quit firefox.

Have any of you tried the new version of firefox and do you have these problems too? It could be a settings problem but I've checked it and don't see anything wrong. Do let me know if you know how i could resolve these problems.

Personally I like IE9

A lot disagree I am sure, but that Just me.

I would say the likely hood of one of the most popular web browsers being problematic is highly unlikely. You might be doing something wrong.

Try re-installing it

I'm not having any issues with the tabs/apps tab. It's running quite good for me.

I'm loving the new Fox. I've had a couple of tab switching bugs, but nothing serious. My only gripe is they still haven't sorted it's RAM usage :(

Saving tabs is now a preference, rather than a dialogue box on exit - check your options.

I just tried it and it's great. This is the first time since 2.0 that there is an actual speed increase that you can feel. Especially on pages with many graphics and flash elements and javascript running.

I don't like some of the new defaults for UI, so I configured those to my needs. The only drawback I see so far is that some extensions I use are not yet supported. For example TamperData no longer works, so I have to use Firebug which is a little bit too much for simple tampering and replaying of requests; it's like trying to kill a flea with atomic bomb :)

To conclude: best release so far, and first time I upgraded the same day I tried it. For example, I waited about 2 months after release to switch to 2.0, and about 6 months to switch to 3.0 and later to 3.5 and 3.6. Looks like IE9 and Chrome's speed has finally hit the Mozilla developers and they decided to do something about it.

NOw I am using Firefox 4.0. But I have faced a lot of problems. Seo quake is not working properly. No access for no follow attribute. Also looks like it slowed down my speed. Thinking of going back to the previous one. Though the outlook of 4 is good.
